Become a Charter Member...

Charter membership is encouraged for those companies which subscribe to the AAHP Mission Statement and are licensed in the state of Alabama to provide insured health benefit plans to Alabama consumers, including provider organizations and health care service plans. Charter Members constitute the voting membership of the association.

AN ACTIVE VOICE - As a member of the Alabama Association of Health Plans (AAHP) your company is part of an organized, active voice in Alabama on policy issues affecting health benefit plans. AAHP provides the vehicle for policy makers, the media, opinion leaders and the public with information pertaining to legislative, regulatory and marketplace issues.

• Industry Leadership Opportunities

Charter members constitute the directors and officers if the association, serving annual terms.

• Legislative Input and Information

AAHP has an active and participatory legislative advocacy program at the state level, and also monitors federal legislative health affairs through its membership in the American Association of Health Plans. Member companies share and receive information on all state and federal legislation affecting health plan operations.

• Participation in the Legislative Process

AAHP members regularly engage in organized discussion and analysis of regulatory matters among t themselves and in conjunction with officials from both the Alabama Department of Public Health. Member companies benefit from long-standing professional relationships within the Alabama regulatory community.
